When you need to get a few posters made from your own files, you normally have just a few options. You can go to your local Kinkos and have them posterized by them for about $8 a sq. ft. Similarly, you can go to your local printer and have them make it into a poster for a similar lofty cost. You can also get posters made by uploading them to shortrunposters.com for a small fraction of the cost and trouble of the other options. Poster printing has always been a very expensive endeavor until recently, due to the very high cost of large format printing presses and the setup processes involved. Now, you can turn your images into large format posters without spending a king’s ransom. At shortrunposters.com, you can get your 18x24 posters made for less than $3 each, in fact. These are printed on relatively heavy 80# coated cover paper stock. The digital press that produces these can print up to 600 dpi for high-resolution output. Fortunately, you do not have to order large quantities to enjoy these unheard-of prices – in fact, there is no minimum order required at all. You can simply upload your favorite family photos, vacation shots, little league action photos – or even your profession images for fine art prints. Our posters are printed using a unique toner based process that offers a nice matte finish off the machine. For the high gloss finish, you can add lamination to the final posters. Another popular option is the mounting where we attach the poster to a 3/16” white foam core backing. In early 2011, shortrunposters added another size poster to its lineup – the 24x36 custom poster. Like it’s “cousin” the 18x24, these are also printed on heavier paper (80# uncoated cover) and up to 1200 dpi in resolution. Over the last 4 years or so, we have made posters for over 50,000 customers and counting.
