ShortRunPosters.com utilizes one of the most advanced digital printing presses available today. The Xeikon 5000 is a roll fed press that can print 5 colors on both side of the paper at the same time. This is called "single pass duplex". This is a production machine and was originally intended for short run printing - everything from brochures to pocket folders to posters.

The Xeikon 5000 prints with LED array-based dry toner electrophotography at 600 DPI with variable dot density (4 bit). It can print on a wide range of substrates from 24# text weight to thick 122# cover weight paper or board. It can also print on synthetic substrates such as clear acetate and polyester sheet. Although the quality of the print is not like "gliché", it is better quality than traditional offset. The light fast properties are great - we placed a traditional offset printed color scale and a Xeikon printed color scale in direct sunlight for 12 months. The offset sheet faded quite almost completely white, while the Xeikon printed piece has retained all of it's color.
